Juanjo Jiménez (La Gineta, Albacete, 1961) is a Drawing teacher in secondary schools (now retired) and an active artist. Encouraged at a young age by the abstract painter Alfonso Quijada, he entered the world of art through painting and drawing, and later became interested in photography, digital image and video. He was a founding member and president of the Albacete Artists’ Association «Quince» (from 1993 to 1996) and is currently co-director, with Arturo Tendero, of the publishing house and art magazine «La Siesta del Lobo». Last year, he was elected president of the Albacete Fine Arts Association, a position he resigned a few months ago to move to another city.
He has held solo and group exhibitions of painting, drawing and photography, mainly in Albacete, but also in Toledo, Valencia and Paris.
A tireless traveller, he has visited several countries where nature plays a leading role, in search of bare landscapes where silence and cold reign, such as Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Mongolia, Scotland, Chilean Patagonia and Canada. Besides art, mountains are are his great passion.
He currently divides his time between the plains of La Mancha (Aguas Nuevas) and the mountains of León (Carrocera).
